How to Convert Ingredients for Cooking and Baking

Whether you’re preparing a turkey for thanksgiving or scaling a recipe for dinner, you’ll eventually need to convert an ingredient from one measurement to another. You can convert a measurement in a few easy steps.

The first step is to find the conversion ratio between the two units. You can find the ratio by referring to the conversion charts below.

Once you have the conversion ratio, you can multiply it by the measurement to convert. For example, the conversion ratio from tablespoons to teaspoons is 3, so you can use this formula to convert tablespoons to teaspoons:

teaspoons = tablespoons × 3
